In line with the present administration’s commitment to promote the principle of Ease of Doing Business as a tool for business growth, the Osun Internal Revenue Service (OIRS) has taken a proactive step by organizing a one day performance enhancement training program on Harmonized Demand Notice (Harmonized Bill).
The training which held at the agency’s board room, brought together all the stakeholders in revenue generation.
The Acting Chairman, Osun Internal Revenue Services (OIRS), Alhaji Solanke Hamzat, in his remarks,emphasized the importance of efficiency in implementing the Harmonized Tax Notice(Harmonized Tax Bill), maintaining that ,it is a veritable potential to enhance revenue generation .
Alhaji Hamzat used the occasion to advise the stakeholders to maintain close link with OIRS Tax Station Managers in various Tax Stations so as to facilitate effective discharge of their duties.
He stressed that the primary motive behind the engagement was to enhance the agency’s ability to improve on its efficiency and effectiveness.
Alhaji Solanke, ,however,
cautioned against unethical practices by the stakeholders .
Also speaking, Mr. Oladejo ( other name ?)explained that the Harmonized Tax Notice ( Harmonized Tax Bill )was adopted to solve the problem of multiple taxation in order to consolidate all annual levies into a single bill.
Mr Oladejo,however, clarified that, the harmonized Tax Notice (Harmonized Tax Bill) does not include Pay As You Earn (PAYE), Direct Assessment and other similar taxes.
In the same vein,he noted that for convenience, OIRS allows payment to be made in three tranches not exceeding three months.
