
New official Motorcycles purchased for Tax Office operations
Revenue generation has been described as one of the major financial backings of government for developmental projects.
To augment this drive, boosting of State Internally Generated Revenue requires better equipment and tools to aid better performance in this regard.
The Executive Chairman, Osun Internal Revenue Service (OIRS), Prince Adesola Adewumi gave these hints while commissioning some motorcycles to aid revenue performance in various tax stations in the State, held at the OIRS building, Abere.
Prince Adewumi revealed that the motorcycles were bought to help in the dispatch errands and day to day running of the activities of the agency.
Highlighting the numerous benefits in payment of taxes and levies both individually and collectively, Prince Adewumi appealed to the agency dispatch riders to use the motorcycles judiciously to the benefits of the agency and the State at large.
While admonishing the officers on continuous diligence and efficiency performance, the Agency boss warned them to safeguard the motorcycles at all times, abolished late night riding, and always give their best according to the rules of their engagements.
In his own remarks, the Legal Officer, OIRS, Barr. Deji Atoyebi urged the staff to always watchout for the conditions of the motorcycles at all times, noting that the purpose of assigning the machines to them is to enhance the revenue generation performance of the agency in boosting the State IGR.
Part of the activities for the event was the retrieving of riders’ former documents and presentation of new documents and keys.
