OIRS BOSS ENJOINS STAFFERS TO BE ALIVE TO THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES

A call has gone to members of staff of Osun State Internal Revenue Service, especially tax station managers to redouble their efforts towards commitment and dedication In the discharge of their duties at their various offices.
The call was made by the acting Chairman, Osun Internal Revenue Service (OIRS), Alhaji Solanke Hamzat during a meeting with the tax station managers held at the agency’s conference hall, Abere.
The meeting which was the first tax station managers review meeting in 2025 afforded Alhaji Hamzat the opportunity to charged them on redoubling their efforts, says “their output performances will be the result of improve IGR to be acknowledged at the end of each month”.
On the performance based assessment, the OIRS helmsman hinted that such a meeting is now compulsory and important, making it a must to be observed every second Thursdays of every month to improve their performances as matters regarding performance and revenue appraisal would be discussed and noted.
Alhaji Hamzat also used the occasion to informed the tax administrators of the inclusion of Water Development Levy (WDL) as part of the levies to be collected from all taxable residents of the state starting from this year.
On the same vein, the Director, High Networth Individual & Tax Station Management, Mr. Adedeji Oyelade admonished the tax station managers to always Live upto their billings through upgrading and encourage a better hygienic environment to work in.
In their separate remarks, the Assistant Directors, Informal Sector, Income tax (DA & PAYE), Mrs Bilikis Lawal, Mrs Jumoke Okeyode and Mrs Latifat Adepoju admonished tax station managers to always enhance revenue optimal performance and accurate recording of taxpayers information, intimate them to be guided by the rules and laid down guidelines of the agency in order to avoid inputting of wrong information and under assessments.
Speaking on the issuance of fake government receipts, the assistant directors advised the managers to abolish attitude of printing government revenue receipts outside their offices, rather reach out to their direct boss if there is any challenges regarding that.
The meeting availed the concerned staff the opportunity to state their challenges and observations which the management promised to find solutions to as they are known.
