Governor Adeleke signs 2025 budget into law

The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has signed the year 2025 appropriation budget into law, tagging it budget of “Sustainable Growth and Transformation”.
While accenting to the budget at State Secretariat, Abere, the Governor explained that out of Four Hundred and Twenty Seven Billion, Seven Hundred and Forty Six Million, Nine Hundred and Twenty Five Thousand, One Hundred and Seventy Naira (₦427,746,925.170.00), the state internally generated revenue sector is expected to rake in One Hundred and Nine Billion Naira (₦109,000,000,000) to help foster the sustainable growth and transformation agenda for the year 2025.
Governor Adeleke assured Osun people that the Budget will be rigorously implemented to deliver on their expectations. He added that the Appropriation Act will be his administration’s faithful instrument to deliver on the five point agenda for good governance.
The Governor equally lauded the State House Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olumide Egbedun and other members of the State Assembly, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, members of the Treasury Board and other top government functionaries for upholding professionalism all the way.
He therefore directed Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, other Ministries, Agencies and Departments to prepare and pursue robust implementation plans with a view to have a commendable budget performance on a quarterly basis.
The State helmsman however, urged members of the State Executive Council to cooperate with the lawmakers in the exercise of their mandate during the 2025 budgetary year.
In his remarks, the Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun urged the administration of Governor Adeleke to commit fully to the implementation of the budget, ensuring that it serves the best interests of the citizens of Osun State.
While assuring that Osun Assembly will work diligently to ensure that allocated funds are utilised efficiently, focusing on achieving tangible outcomes that significantly improve the lives of the people, Hon. Egbedun stressed that the State legislative arm is dedicated to ensuring that every Naira is meticulously accounted for and directly enhances the welfare of the citizens.
He applauded Governor Adeleke for his exemplary leadership, which according to him has positioned Osun State as a beacon among the states of Nigeria.
He equally lauded the Governor for his timely presentation of the budget to the House of Assembly saying it has provided them with the necessary opportunity to meticulously review and refine it before its passage.
